"I have been able to live my dreams of performing all over the world, so it’s only natural that I want to reach children through my passion for the arts. Creative stimulation can build imagination, which results in freedom and full expression. It builds self-esteem and acceptance for ones uniqueness as well. The arts have truly changed my life, and now my mission is to inspire children to SMILE WITH ME!"

Beginning in 2006, Carmit heard the roar of the crowds around the world for a much different reason than her pop star celebrity appeal. She often began her intro with, “A lot of you may not know this but I was born with a birth defect.”

Having been born with a cleft lip and palate, Carmit became an ambassador for the international organization Operation Smile and traveled the world with her non-profit group that she aptly called, Project Smile with Me. She spent time with the youth in South America, in the hospital and orphanages. The true beauty of these children inspired an even greater mission to foster self-esteem, uniqueness, and smiles via the arts.

She dedicated the song, KEEP ON SMILING, to all the children around the world that she had met, or had yet to meet, that struggled with finding their own individual beauty. All proceeds benefit Operation Smile.
